Specialist Services

Our specialist services include palaeoenvironmental and geoarchaeological analysis. These help us understand how past environments and economies developed. We also undertake conservation work to preserve finds, alongside detailed analysis and reporting for archaeological projects.

Our geoarchaeologists, palaeoenvironmental specialists, zooarchaeologists, and artefact experts analyse deposits, finds, and samples. They present the results in a range of high-quality reports supported by detailed illustrations, including single images and 3D models.

Our conservation team has worked on projects around the world, including the Barangaroo Boat in Australia and the Iron Age chariot burial from Yorkshire. They have also conserved well-known discoveries, including our own Coppergate timbers.

Some clients use a single service, while others draw on several of our specialist services. If a project requires expertise we do not provide in-house, we can call on a trusted network of independent archaeologists to support your project.

Paleoenvironmental

Our specialists analyse microfossils and macrofossils to reconstruct past landscapes and human impact.

Conservation

We are industry leaders in conserving maritime and waterlogged materials, with extensive expertise in preserving fragile organic remains.

Geoarchaeology

Geoarchaeology services operate both on-site and in our specialist laboratories. They include 3D modelling, GIS-based risk mapping, and environmental analysis to help clients understand archaeological and environmental risk.

Analysis and Reporting

Our analysis and reporting services use site assemblages and stratigraphic records to produce assessments, updated project designs, and final reports.
